Yetminster Beavers has a strong group of 16 members. The group meet weekly on a Tuesday evening during term time 5.45pm – 7pm.
Beavers is open for boys and girls 6 – 8 years of age. The Beavers enjoy taking part in a wide range of activities that include team games, team challenges, cooking, climbing to name a few.
In the past year the group has taken part in parades across the District and a District trip to the Crealy adventure park in Devon. The group also had a Christmas trip to watch the panto at Weymouth, an exciting trip by train with a fish and chip lunch.
The activities the Beavers take part in all go towards badges and the group have been lucky enough to learn about fire safety at Sherborne fire station, they have been able to make their own camp fires during a visit to Pogles woods.
The group spend a great deal of time during the summer months outside exploring Yetminster and neighbouring villages during hikes. The group also learn the basic skills of camping, puting up tents and learning camping skills.
