Tennis: Where and when
The village has a single hard court located on the Yetminster Sports Club field (off Sussex Farm Way) that is open for play the year around.
There is a thriving Tennis Club with members not only from Yetminster and Ryme Intrinseca but a few from other villages in the Wriggle Valley. During the summer months (April to October), court booking sheets are held in the Old School Gallery (and café!) open 10:00 to 16:30 Monday to Saturday at the west end of the High Street. Outside those months, the court is available on a first come first serve basis.
There is a small club tournament as part of an Annual Sports Day in the village during the summer and an inter-villages competition, normally in the late summer/autumn.
Fees & Subscriptions
Annual membership runs from 1 May from to 30 April. Family membership is presently (2015) £40 pa, individual membership £20 pa and junior membership (18 or under on 1 May) £10. Membership of the Tennis Club includes Sports Club membership and access to the Sports Club pavilion (when open). Members playing with guests on the court contribute £1 per guest.
Members who also pay a Croquet section subscription will only pay the Sports Club element of their subscriptions once.
The club treasurer (see under Contacts below) has a small stock of tennis balls (Head Instinct) available at £3 for a can of 4 or £8 for one dozen.
The court is kept locked and a refundable deposit of £10 is payable on joining in return for a court gate key.
