We offer a wide range of fiction as well as information books on country life, cookery, travel, biography, and other popular subjects. Large print books and talking books are also available. Additionally, CD’s, DVD’s and an E-book service are also available.

Home Library Service

lf you find it hard to get to your local library, then it is possible to arrange for books, books in large print, talking books and CD’s to be delivered to your home free of charge, at regular intervals by volunteers from the Royal Voluntary Service.

Visits are usually every three weeks and all volunteers always carry identity cards.

Having contacted us a volunteer will call and see you in your home to see if we can help you to use the Home Library Service.

Volunteering
The Home Library Service is delivered in partnership with the Royal Voluntary Service, who provide a range of services for older people to help them stay independent in their own homes. Volunteers are always needed so if you have an interest in books and reading and can spare a few hours a month to meet and help others then please consider joining your local team – use the RVS contact details above to register your interest or to ask for more information.
