Final date for returning entry forms is Tuesday 11th August.

Deadline for delivering photography is Tuesday 11h August and for paintings and drawings Friday 14h August.

  • All food must be covered in  cellophane or clingfilm (preferable eco-friendly)

JAMS AND PRESERVES

  • You may make up to two entries in any class in this section
  • If jars have screw tops they must not have a wax disc as well
  • No jars to be trademarked shape and no jars/lids to show brand names
  • All entries must be labelled with the type of jam or preserve
  • Classes 54-57 must be shown in jars of 12oz-1lb (350-450grms)
  • Classes 58 and 59 must be in jars no smaller than 8oz (225grms)

PAINTING AND DRAWING

Paintings and drawings must either be delivered previously to Kate Oram, Old School House, Church Street, Yetminster, DT9 6LG, or brought to the hall between 10.30am and 12.30am on the preceding day, Friday 14h August

  • You may make up to two entries in any class.  Entries should not have been entered before.
  • Entries should not exceed 75cm x 75cm unless previously arranged with Kate Oram on 07712 437444.
  • Entries must be framed or mounted ready for hanging (‘D’ rings and hanging cords).  If framed please ensure that pictures will not hang forward from the wall.
  • Write titles of pictures and media used on a label on the back of each entry. If under 12 please add your age.
  • All classes can be in any medium unless stated otherwise

70.  A still life (pencil and charcoal)
71. A woodland scene (acrylic or oil)
72. Garden bird (watercolour)
73. Abstract – Summertime (any medium)

PHOTOGRAPHY

Photographs must be delivered to John Ferretter at Yew Cottage, Birch Lane, Yetminster, by 5pm on Tuesday 11th August.

* Open to Amateurs only
* Up to two entries in any class
* Prints may be in black and white or colour
* Prints should be no bigger than A4
* All entries should be printed on paper or card.  They may be mounted but must not be framed.  Professional processing and mounting is acceptable.
* Your name and class number to be written on the back of each print.  If under 12 please add your age.
* You may indicate on the front of the mount where pictures were taken but NOT your name

JUNIORS

We are inviting children under 12 to join us on the day for a special workshop where they will be able to demonstrate their creative skills using vegetables.

RULES AND CONDITIONS

* Open to members of the Society, immediate family members and residents of Yetminster, Ryme and surrounding villages
whether or not they are members of the Society. 
* No fees are charged for entries and children may enter any of the adult classes but should enter their age on the entry form.
* All exhibits, except in floral art classes, must have been grown or made by the exhibitor
* Vegetables, fruit, flowers, floral art, cookery, jams and preserves must be brought to the hall between 08.30am and 09.50am on
the day of the show, Saturday 15h August
* All entries must be made on our A5 official entry form and returned by Tuesday 11th August. Late entries will not be accepted
* All the judges are independent and their decisions are final
* No-one except judges and stewards will be allowed in the hall whilst judging is taking place
* Points will be awarded as follows: 1st = 6 points; 2nd = 4 points; 3rd = 2 points; highly commended = 1 point
* The Society will not be responsible for any loss of damage to the exhibits
* Trophies and certificates will be presented at 4pm, followed by the raffle draw, after which exhibits may be removed.

The Jubilee Hall will open for competitors to arrange their entries from 8.30am until 9.50am on the morning of the show.

Separate arrangements apply to painting and photography classes – please see the relevant section. The hall must be cleared when judging commences. No late entries will be accepted.  After the Show the hall must be cleared by 5pm

TROPHIES

Those holding trophies from the previous show must return them to Jane Hartwell, Fairings, Queen Street, Yetminster by Friday 7th August 2025.
